Anger Can Eat You Up!!

I have a confession to make. Ever since the COVID19 virus has come, I have been seriously struggling with anger, fear, anxiety, frustration and even depression at times, as I’m sure all of us are as we watch what seems to be our world as we know it falling apart at the seams! Even though I have been spending lots of time in prayer and reading the Bible, I was still struggling day to day like being on an emotional roller coaster. I have been so angry about having to wear a mask and my business being decimated and also because so many events and trips that I was looking forward to have been cancelled! The Word says that we should not allow the sun to go down on our anger lest we give the enemy a foothold in our life (Eph 4:26) and I allowed it for many nights over the course of months! Did you know that anger left unchecked can become a root of bitterness in your heart?

Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitterness sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.

Hebrews 12:15

It looks to me like there is plenty of bitterness in the world without me adding to it! No thank you! Do you know how hard it is to have peace and joy and be the light of the world when you’re so angry!?? I’ll tell you from personal experience that it’s IMPOSSIBLE!! I was anything but joyful unless I had a glass of wine in my hand, (which I also had to repent for!😳) Then God asked me to give that up, so I did. I suddenly had no way of escape and all of this ugliness began tumbling out of me! Don’t you know that silver is refined in the fire so that all of the dross (impurities) can come up to the top to be seen and removed.

Take away the dross from silver, And it will go to the silversmith for jewelry.

Proverbs 25:4

I don’t know about you, but I definitely have felt like I’ve been in the Refiner’s fire! We are in a war folks! Can you feel it?! But what if God is using this war to remove the “dross” from our hearts so that He can make us into His beautiful Royal Diadem (which is a a jeweled crown or headband worn as a symbol of sovereignty)? Hmmmm…🤔

You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem In the hand of your God.

Isaiah 62:3

Well, yesterday I feel like I’ve finally “turned the corner”! I have relinquished all of my anger and have repented for allowing the sun to go down on my anger and for drinking too much wine in my search of a feeble peace instead of seeking God’s true everlasting and perfect peace and have submitted it to God. And when I did that all the fear, anxiety, frustration and depression fell off of me too! I AM FREE!!! Praise GOD!!  I repent to all of you also for my anger also overflowed somewhat into some of my personal Facebook posts. Please forgive me. 😔

Let me encourage you, if you are struggling with the same kinds of emotions, to do the same! Repentance is NOT A DIRTY WORD! It merely means “to change your mind” and is what truly sets us free!!

When we repent it does a couple of things: first of all, it shuts the mouth of the Accuser (Satan) who accuses us before the Lord day and night (Rev 12:10). Notice in Romans 8:1 below that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus, but most everyone forgets the second part of it. When we sin, we are no longer walking according to the Spirit, but now are walking according to the flesh. That is why Satan is accusing us day and night. It’s because we are guilty!

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:1

In Matthew 5:25, Jesus is saying we are to agree with our adversary, Satan. When we agree with Satan’s accusations by repenting to the Lord, it is at that moment when God chooses to see us thru the blood of Jesus and He declares us “not guilty”! Thank You Lord!!

Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.

Matthew 5:25

This is especially important for us as Christians who are saved by the blood and who should know better, we always need to be searching our hearts to see if there is anything in there we need to repent for! I’m not saying these things will send you to hell if you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but they sure can make our lives here on earth hellish and totally void of God’s peace and joy! I can testify to that for sure!! 😉

Secondly, it activates God’s Grace towards us. God is so faithful and kind to forgive us when we ask!

Do the riches of his extraordinary kindness make you take him for granted and despise him? Haven’t you experienced how kind and understanding he has been to you? Don’t mistake his tolerance for acceptance. Do you realize that all the wealth of his extravagant kindness is meant to melt your heart and lead you into repentance?

Romans 2:4

This means that, contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, his “delay” simply reveals his loving patience toward you, because he does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

He is SO GRACIOUS and GOOD! And if we are free,  then this song becomes true in our bones and we truly become the light of the world which He intended us to be! ❤️❤️❤️

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed!!

Love this Sherry!! God is removing ALL the worldly things we rely on to ‘comfort’ ourselves, and is giving us a chance to evaluate our relationship with Him. The things that can be shaken are being shaken. Lord, may we find You once again, the only sure Foundation.
