Cabo San Lucas

What a fantastic destination! There is just something about the crashing of the waves that just brings such a peace over me. The kind of peace that cleanses my soul and brings perspective. Isn’t that what vacation is all about?

Cabo San Lucas is probably one of my very favorite places in all the world that I’ve been to thus far. The flight is less than 3 hours from DFW Airport, so very convenient to get to for a quick getaway. They have some of the most luxurious resorts found anywhere, some of which are all-inclusive, some not. As a travel agent, I have gone down there to tour many luxury properties. It is such a benefit to my clients when I go and take these tours and rest assured that I have quite a list of fantastic resorts from which to choose to send them.

At the end of February this year, my husband and I escorted a small group down to Cabo. I knew only 3 people in the group before we left (Eric only knew one person!), but by the end of the trip, we were all great friends! Isn’t travel so much more fun when you go with friends? We had such a great time! We didn’t do much outside of the resort, so it was SO RELAXING!

The majority of our time as a group was spent by the pool during the day. Watching for whales off the shore of our resort was fun. Also our resort had some of the best food! Made from scratch food, such as ceviche and chips, pizza, guacamole, etc, and any drink you want brought to our chairs by the pool by wonderful waiters. Such amazing food and so fresh! Just writing about it makes my mouth water and makes me want to go back!!

Life is good. 🙂

As a group, we chose to take a whale watching tour one morning. We booked this in advance, which is always a good idea, especially in the busy season! Going to Cabo during Whale season is such a treat for us landlocked folks! It was such an awesome tour! The zodiac tours are truly the best because they can move quickly and can get as close as possible to the whales.

What a wonderfully relaxing vacation! I have found for me that relaxing is a learned skill that took me many years to realize and learn. I used to think beach vacations were so boring! I literally couldn’t sit still that long! Now, I really enjoy going and sitting under an umbrella, endlessly gazing at God’s beautiful ocean where His glory is on display for all to see. I am so glad that God put beautiful places like Cabo on the earth as places to escape to when needed.

These getaways are so good for my mental well-being and are a great way to sow into my marriage. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one! Having teenaged kids, we are finally getting to a place where we can get away without it being such a big ordeal. I highly encourage everyone to consider taking periodic getaways, even if you can only afford a staycation. I find that I am a better wife and mother when I’m able to step away from my responsibilities for at least 5 days (7 is better if possible!) a couple times per year.

A note about All-Inclusive Resorts: I know some people may think that all-inclusive resorts are synonymous with bad food, but that is not my experience! Of course food tastes are a very subjective thing. I’m sure there are those that have bad food, but they are usually the super cheap ones! I will be honest, I don’t typically book the cheap resorts. My focus is on the more luxury end of the market. My advice when booking your own vacation is: If a price sounds too good to be true, it usually is! Be sure to read the fine print! The age old saying, “You get what you pay for!” definitely holds true for all-inclusive resorts! Do you really want the cheapest thing? Really?? There is always a catch! Always. Nothing in this world is free.

I would love to use my extensive knowledge and experience to help you book your next all-inclusive vacation! If you are overwhelmed with the many options of resorts, please click here for some help.
